Who we Are?
Hebrew Chapter 3:1a Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling,
The chapter address to the
following people
1. Holy
People
2. Partakers
of Heavenly calling
In order to understand the explanation further it is
important to know who you really are!
Question for you to Self-Assist – What do you think
– Are you Holy or Sinner?
You all might have many opinions- many of you would
say I am Holy but there would be few who would say that I am Sinner. This
opinions could be based on your Biblical teachings that you have had received
from your Childhood.
But let us understand from the Word Who we are?
We all know and understand what happened in the
Garden of Eden – because of Adam’s Disobedience, Sin entered the Human Race.
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man
sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all
men, because all sinned—
1. Adam Sin brought Sin into the world
2. Sin induced Death
And Death spread to all men. Death is the end result of Sin or we
can say the Outcome of Sin is DEATH –
this is what all this verses potrays-
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God,
This two verses define that any Man
that is born may be just a baby (who is just born a second before; is Sinner by
Nature). His actions doesn’t credit
him to become a Sinner but his In-Born nature is Sinful.
Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in
iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
It is important to understand that when God made
Adam His plans for him was not to live in this Sinful Nature - as he created
Man in His own Image, in His likeness.
Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female. He created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply,
and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds
of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”…
God not only created
man in His image but also-
1. BLESSED them
2. Made them Fruitful
3. Multiply them
4. Authority
Just to think except
for man every other creation is performing the works that God ordained them.
Why? Because they know they need to follow the instructions – they have no
opinions, no mind – they are supposed to act as to what is commanded, animals
behave exactly like what they were made to be, plants work in their directed
way, sky, waters are all obedient. But it was only Man who was given
Authorities, He could make his decisions. This is what is meant to be called
making in God’s image – right to exercise the mind, right to make own
decisions. Right to be called god. Yes !But eventually, we see what happened to
Man- but Praise God- He had provisions.
Romans
5:19 For as by one man’s
disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will
be made righteous.
Adam – We became Sinners – because of Disobedience
Christ- We became Righteous – Because of Obedience
Today I am leaving
you at this point of self-analysis – with the key verse Romans 5:19 to ponder, if you have received Christ in your life-
can you boldly say you are Righteous or Holy or you are stuck considering
yourself to be Sinner quoting Romans 3:23 ?
I would appreciate
you would approach me to help you understand your identity in Christ, so that
no devil can challenge you with his lies.
Blessings
Tanvi Joseph
